The first phase of India’s census 2011, which covers house listing and housing census, was held from April 15 to May 1, 2010. Under the house-listing schedule of every household being conducted for entries in the concerned National Population Register (NPR database) for its update and citizen registration and national identification letters rules 2003, the NPR database is being linked with the Aadhaar card number.
Commissioner, the Municipal Corporation Bathinda, Dalwinderjit Singh, stated that the field work for conducting house-to-house survey has been done. From November 1 to November 30, these teams will be visiting every census area. For update of the records of Bathinda residents, the team will ask for Aadhaar card, the EID enrollment slip, ration card and mobile numbers of each member should be provided.
He appealed to the people living in municipal limits to cooperate with the teams that will visit for conducting the exercise and give the correct information and supporting documents to the teams.
