NGO workers do their best to help injured

Volunteers of the NGO Sahara Jan Sewa helped in shifting four victims of road accidents to hospital today.

NGO president Vijay Goyal said an elderly man got injured near the flyover on Santpura Road and was admitted to the emergency of the Civil Hospital.

He was walking when an unidentified vehicle hit him and left him seriously injured. The injured has been identified as Balwant Singh, a resident of Guru Nanakpura, who was taken to the hospital by NGO volunteer Rajinder Kumar in the ambulance of the NGO.

Another resident Shashikant Bhardwaj fell off from one of the railway platforms and was taken to the Civil Hospital by volunteers of the NGO.

Two persons riding on a scooter fell off on the road after the vehicle they were riding on was hit by a rashly driven bike. The duo, Sanjay Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, were rushed to the Civil Hospital.

A calf, which came in contact with a moving train near the railway station, was treated by volunteers of the NGO, who administered 165 stitches in her stomach.

“The calf was seriously injured after she was hit by the train. We immediately tied her using a long rope and stitched the injury and gave medicines and food to the animal,” Vijay Goyal said.

Earlier too, the NGO had helped in treating numerous stray animals, including a dog of good breed, which was abandoned by its owner following a deadly disease. The dog was treated by workers of the NGO. After treatment, a large number of buyers came around to offer a price close to Rs 2 lakh for the dog.
