NGO writes to MC, seeks pruning of trees

BATHINDA: Local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Naujawan Welfare Society president Sonu Maheshwari today gave a demand letter to Mayor Balwant Rai Nath, demanding cutting and pruning of trees in the city which are causing accidents and traffic snarls.

Local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Naujawan Welfare Society president Sonu Maheshwari today gave a demand letter to Mayor Balwant Rai Nath, demanding cutting and pruning of trees in the city which are causing accidents and traffic snarls.

In the demand letter, Naujawan Welfare Society president Sonu Maheshwari stated that there are a few trees in the city which are causing problems in the smooth flow of the traffic, while some have gone dry in the past few years.

Naujawan Welfare Society president Sonu Maheshwari said at many places overgrown trees had become an eyesore on the Gurukul road, Paras Ram Nagar main road, district court complex main gate, Bhatti road, Amarpura road and various other roads and spots in the city.

Mayor Balwant Rai Nath assured that he would look into the matter as the safety of people was top priority for them.
