One arrested with 1 kg opium, five with illicit liquor

BATHINDA: The anti-narcotics wing of the Bathinda police arrested a person with one kg of opium from Gudthari village that comes under the Sangat police station.

The anti-narcotics wing of the Bathinda police arrested a person with one kg of opium from Gudthari village that comes under the Sangat police station.

Gurdev Singh, in-charge of the wing, said, “We were going to Sangat for patrolling. As we reached near Gurthari village, we stopped Jatinder Saau, a resident of Doomwali village, and recovered one kg of opium from him. The accused has been booked under the NDPS Act at the Sangat police station.”

Gurdev Singh said the accused was also arrested with 700 gm of opium in the past.

The Nehianwala police arrested Rajwinder Singh, a resident of Khiyaliwala village, with 18 bottles of illicit liquor from the village.

The Nathana police have arrested Mohinder Singh, a resident of Gobindpura village, with 40 bottles of illicit liquor.

The Maur police have recovered 25 litre of illicit liquor from the Kotli Khurd village. A case has been registered against Nirmal Singh, a resident of the same village, who is absconding.

The Talwandi Sabo police recovered 1,080 bottles of illicit liquor from Seikhupura village.

A case has been registered against Jagdev Singh, a resident of the same village, who is absconding.

The Talwandi Sabo police arrested Seera Singh, a resident of Rayia village, with 11 bottles of illicit liquor from Kalalwala village.

The Nehianwala police arrested Sukhchain Singh, a resident of Mehma Sarja village, with 21 bottles of illicit liquor.

The Diyalpura police arrested Jagseer Singh, a resident of Bhagta Bhaika, with 15 bottles of illicit liquor from the village.
