BARNALA: The local police on Friday night arrested a person with 2 kg of opium.



Barnala: The local police on Friday night arrested a person with 2 kg of opium. The accused has been identified as Ekam Singh. “On Friday night, a police party arrested Ekam with 2-kg opium from near Lakhi colony. He was supplying opium to Barnala from Rajasthan and Haryana. We are conducting further investigations,” said DSP Rajesh Chhibber. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. TNS

Use funds wisely, govt schools told

Malout: The Education Department has asked all district education officers  and school heads to use funds wisely. The department has warned them of action if the orders are not followed. The letter signed by the Special Secretary (school education) has said if any teacher uses the funds for personal or staff use, action would be taken as per the law. They have also been told to properly maintain a record of funds. TNS
