One killed in road mishap near Deon

BATHINDA: A youth was killed in a road accident near village Deon.



Bathinda, June 24

A youth was killed in a road accident near village Deon. A case has been registered against unidentified accused under section of 304A and 279 of the IPC at the Bathinda Sadar police station.

The dead youth was identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Bathinda, who was staying with his wife. His parents were staying in Kotkapura. A case has been registered on the basis of complaint of his mother Usha Rani, a resident of Kotkapura.

Investigating officer Jagir Singh said Deepak Kumar was going to Jaito on a Pulsar motorcycle bearing the registration number PB-04G-6910 on June 21 at 10.30 pm. As he reached near village Deon, an unidentified vehicle hit, him injuring him seriously. Commuters and NGO volunteers took Deepak to the Civil Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Jagir said he had borrowed the Pulsar motorcycle from his friend Baljinder Singh as he had to meet his sister in Jaito. Deepak’s mother Usha Rani told the police that they were informed by Baljinder Singh about the death of Deepak. The post-mortem was conducted at the Bathinda Civil Hospital. — TNS
