One killed, many injured in road mishaps

BATHINDA: A person was killed while many injured in road mishaps in the district recently.



Bathinda, May 20

A person was killed while many injured in road mishaps in the district recently. In the first incident, a person was killed after a truck rammed into a motorcycle at Jeeda village.

The deceased has been identified as Gursewak Singh, a resident of Romana Ajit Singhwala village.

In a complaint lodged by Surjit Singh, a resident of the same village, it has been stated that the truck rammed into the motorcycle of his nephew Gursewak Singh at Jeeda village, which led to his death.

The police have registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC against driver Mohinder Singh, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, at the Nehiawala police station. However, no arrest has been made so far.

In another incident, Harbans Singh, a resident of Paras Ram Nagar, was injured when Prashotam Kumar, while reversing a truck, hit the victim. 

A case under Sections 279 and 338 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at the Canal Colony police station.

A resident of Baba Farid Nagar was injured as a car coming from the wrong side hit the victim’s car at Thermal colony at Lehra Mohabbat. In a complaint lodged by Baldev Singh, it has been stated that accused Ramjit Singh came from the wrong side and rammed into his car. 

A case under Sections 279, 337 and 427 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at the Nathana police station.
