Bathinda, May 28

Members of the All-India Gramin Daak Sewak Union, National Gramin Daak Sewak Union and National Federation Postal Employees Union staged a protest over their demands on Monday.

The protesters gathered outside the main postal office and burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi near the District Administrative Complex and raised slogans against the Union Government for not fulfilling their demands.

Earlier, the protesters carried out a protest rally in the Civil Lines area, holding placards in their hands they resorted to sloganeering against the ruling regime before reaching the main post office.

Nacchatar Singh Khemuana, a union leader, said, “The government did not revise the wages of the rural postal employees, postmen, clerks and class IV employees, who had been getting same wages for over two years now.” — TNS
