The Northern Railway Men Union (NRMU) today staged a protest against the Central government at the railway junction over what they called a disappointing seventh pay commission report. Union leaders and workers raised slogans against the government.
Union line branch secretary Thakur Singh said the union members were upset over the issue. He demanded that the seventh pay commission report be rectified for the benefit of the employees, new pension plan should be cancelled and old pension scheme should be restarted.
Main branch secretary Makhan Singh said minimum wages of the employees should be fixed at Rs 25,000, grade I and II technicians should be given respectable salary and employee associated AIRF demands should be fulfilled.
