Bathinda, February 10
Residents of Hazura Kapura Colony have filed a complaint with officials of the Municipal Corporation (MC), Bathinda, regarding potholes on the Barnala road.
The residents, including Baldev Bhullar, Gurjant Singh, Palwinder Kaur, Harjot Singh and Prabhsimran, submitted a signed letter, demanding immediate repair of the road, to the officials concerned.
In their complaint, they stated that potholes had appeared on the road which passes near Hazura Kapura Colony and a number of accidents took place due to this.
“The condition of the road worsened after the construction of a slip road. Thereafter, the construction work was left in between, due to which many two-wheelers skid on the road on a daily basis,” said Baldev Bhullar.
He said the matter was taken up with officials of the MC on a number of occasions, but to no avail. He said if the authorities concerned fail to repair the road, area residents would be forced to move court.
“The authorities concerned did not adopt proper system while constructing the road and the slip road adjoining the Barnala road ends abruptly, which has become a reason for accidents in the past,” Bhullar added.
The residents said they were also planning to stage a massive protest in this regard soon.— TNS
