As day of polling date in the state is drawing near, candidates are trying everything to gain an upperhand over their rivals.

Recently, supporters of Sarup Chand Singla, SAD candidate from the Bathinda (Urban) constituency, and Congress candidate Manpreet Badal slugged it out over the president of the Artiya Association, Satish Babu, on Facebook.

The SAD candidate had uploaded a video on his Facebook page, in which he was talking to his supports and media personnel. During his address, he alleged that Manpreet Badal’s supporters and ‘goons’ had threatened his supporter Satish Babu and he had been in constant fear since morning. He alleged that the ‘goons’ were freely roaming in the city and he would also file a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard.

The post was shared by many SAD supporters and commented against the Congress candidates.

Yesterday afternoon, Satish Babu joined the Congress in the presence of Manpreet Badal at the grain market. Thereafter, Manpreet Badal’s close aide shared a post on Facebook, in which it was claimed that ‘propaganda’ of Sarup Chand Singla had been exposed.

They also posted photographs of Satish Babu with Manpreet Badal. The Congress supporters claimed that there was very less turnout at a meeting addressed by Sarup Chand Singla at the grain market. They said through the post that when the SAD candidate came to know that Babu was holding a meeting with Manpreet Badal, he alleged that Manpreet Badal’s relative went to the house of Babu and threatened him in frustration.
