Security guard at petrol pump shoots himself

BATHINDA: A security guard deployed at a petrol pump located on the Goniana road today committed suicide by shooting himself from his licensed gun.

A security guard deployed at a petrol pump located on the Goniana road today committed suicide by shooting himself from his licensed gun.

The voice of gunshots created panic at the petrol pump and its nearby areas. Employees of the petrol pump immediately informed the police about the incident.

A police team reached the spot and started investigating the incident.

The police took the body into their custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for the postmortem.

As per the available information, Hardam Singh, a resident Amargarh village on the Goniana road, was working as a security guard at a petrol pump.

After finishing his duty today at 6 am, he went to a room of the petrol pump to take some rest. After a few hours, he shot himself with his .12 bore licensed gun.

After hearing the gunshots, people reached the room and informed the police. Thereafter, he was taken to the nearest hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

As per the family, he was under stress over some family issue.

Police personnel at the Nehiawala police station have started a probe into the incident.
