Six cases of Excise Act registered in 24 hours

BATHINDA: Six cases under the Excise Act have been registered in the past 24 hours in the district.

Six cases under the Excise Act have been registered in the past 24 hours in the district.

In the first case, the police recovered 60 bottles of country-made liquor from a person during checking at Jassi Baghwali village.

The arrested accused has been identified as Gagana Singh, a resident of the same village. The police have registered a case at the Sangat police station.

In another case, the police recovered 100 lt lahan at Dhipali village while the accused managed to run from the spot.

The police have registered a case against Jagtar Singh of Dhipali at the Phul police station.

The police recovered 36 bottles of country-made liquor from a person at Bhucho Khurd village, but accused Rajinder Singh, a resident of Bathinda, managed to flee from the spot.

A case under the Excise Act has been registered against him at the Cantonment police station.

In another case, the police seized nine bottles of country-made liquor from a person during checking on the outskirts of Kotra Kalan village.

Accused Jagjit Singh of Kotra Kalan was arrested but later released on bail. A case against the accused has been registered at the Ballianwali police station. 

The police seized 10 lt lahan by raiding a house at Dyalpura Bhaika village. Accused Beant Singh was arrested from the spot. 

In another incident, the police seized 15 lt lahan from a woman at Dyalpura Bhaika village. Accused Sarabjeet Kaur was arrested and has been booked under the Excise Act at the Dyalpura police station.
