Members of the SSD Sabha today gathered at the sabha complex to register their protest against the induction of Dr Anil Bansal into the sabha.

The members said earlier Dr Bansal was removed from the membership of the working committee of the sabha. Sabha president Abhey Singla was the chairman of the inquiry committee, which probed the charges levelled against Dr Bansal, they added.

The inquiry committee proved the charges of corruption during Dr Bansal’s regime as president of the college. Records of accounts were not handed over to the new management by Dr Bansal by saying that no record was maintained, the members added.

The members said around 18 months ago, some members of the sabha gave a representation to the then management headed by Abhey Singla to reinduct Dr Bansal. However, Singla rejected the demand and convinced them that the corruption charges against Dr Bansal were proved in his report.

They alleged that now Abhey Singla has entered into some understanding with Dr Bansal and wanted to induct him in the sabha.

The members said 81 members of the sabha submitted a memorandum to Abhey Singla in which they urged him not to induct Dr Bansal, who was expelled on the basis of his report.

Sabha members Parmod Mittal, Rajiv Gupta, Sanjay Goel, KK Aggarwal, Bimal Jain, Ramesh Goyal and others addressed the gathering.

SSD Sabha president Abhey Singla said around 40 members had requested him to reinduct Dr Bansal in the sabha as his family had contributed a lot to take SSD College to new heights.

Abhey Singla said on May 16, he tendered his resignation but it was not accepted so he took it back.

The members also demanded from officiating president JP Goyal to call a meeting of the General House.

The SSD Sabha president said the agenda regarding taking Dr Anil Bansal back as member was brought before the working committee of the sabha.

The committee passed the agenda so he could not ignore the working committee as it is the supremo of the sabha, he added.
