After the defeat of SAD in the Assembly elections, party president and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has started holding meetings with party workers in different constituencies to boost their morale.

He asked the party workers to remain united and continue working for strengthening the party.

While addressing party workers at Bhai Rupa village in Rampura Phul, Sukhbir Singh Badal said SAD had initiated historic development in the state and launched many welfare schemes for the benefits of the public.

Lashing out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said AAP mislead the people of Punjab through its campaign due to which the Congress benefitted and formed the government.

He said after a few months, people would remember the policies and work done by the SAD government in the past 10 years.

Sukhbir Badal stressed that in future SAD would not take leaders from other parties into their party fold and there would be complete ban on giving siropas.

Former state minister Sikander Singh Maluka said the Congress had come to power by making big promises, which were impossible to fulfil.

Maluka said they would give sufficient time to the Congress to fulfil its promises and let the people compare the work done by both parties.

Apart from Rampura, Sukhbir Singh Badal also held meetings with party workers at Bhucho and Maur Mandi constituencies.

At Goniana in Bhucho assembly segment, infighting in SAD came to the fore in front of Sukhbir Badal when former councillor Ramesh Mattu and YAD leader Charanjit Sharma, while addressing, told the party president that many leaders, who had worked against the party in the state elections, were sitting on the stage.
