BATHINDA: Officials of the municipal service cell of the Local Bodies Department, Chandigarh, who are in the city to scrutinise the records of various development works undertaken during the previous SAD-BJP government continued their work of for the second day today.

Officials of the municipal service cell of the Local Bodies Department, Chandigarh, who are in the city to scrutinise the records of various development works undertaken during the previous SAD-BJP government continued their work of for the second day today.

This morning, the team went to the field and scritinised the development works done by the Municipal Corporation. They also noted the irregularities they found.

The team checked the timing of the MCB employees coming to the office.

They went to the office and seized the attendance register. They also prepared a list of the officials who came late to the office.

They carried out verification of the store at the MCB office. They checked the material purchased by the MCB and its bills.

Later, the team was visited the fire brigade cell and took stock of the conditions there.

The team headed by superintendent Jaspal Singh, along with senior associate Dhrampal Verma and Kulwinder Singh, reached the city yesterday.

Municipal Commissioner Sanyam Aggarwal claimed that it was a routine probe. This probe is conducted by the department after every two-three years, he added.

The motive behind the exercise is to make officials maintain record properly, he said.

The team is likely to check alleged scams, which had been taken place during the last government’s tenure, so that action should be initiated against the culprits.
