Bathinda: Three motorcycles were stolen on Monday from the premises of the court complex, an area under the Civil Lines police station. In a complaint lodged by Gurbhej Singh, a resident of Burj Mehma, it has been stated that his motorcycle (PB-03AL-2243) was stolen from the parking of court complex.

Ravinder Singh, a resident of Kothe Amarpura, said his motorcycle (PB-03-T-8465) was stolen from the main gate of the court complex. Gurlal Singh, a resident of Bhagwati Enclave, said his motorcycle (PB-03-X-3038) was stolen from the court complex. A case under Section 379 has been registered at the Civil Lines police station against the unidentified accused. TNS

Eight held with drugs, liquor

Bathinda: The Bathinda police on Sunday held five persons with intoxicants and three with illicit liquor. The Nehianwala police on Sunday arrested a woman with 180 gm of opium from Gill Patti village. The accused has been identified as Rani Kaur, a resident of Jaito in Faridkot district. The Diyalpura police arrested Karamjeet Singh, a resident of Diyalpua, with 400 intoxicant tablets and also recovered a motorcycle (PB-03-W-4089) from Bhagta village. The Phul police arrested Pritpal Singh, a resident of Rampura, with 2 gm of white powder. The three accused have been booked under the NDPS Act. The Phul police arrested Jaswant Singh, a resident of Kotli Kalan, with 90 intoxicant tablets from Maur Khurd village. The Sangat police arrested Darshan Singh, a resident of Pakka Kalan, with 800 intoxicant tablets from the drain bridge near Sangat. The accused has been booked under Section 15 of the Indian Council Medical Act, 1956. The Phul police also arrested Maninder Singh, a resident of Sidhana, with 24 bottles of illicit liquor from Salebarah village. The Rama police arrested Ajaib Singh, a resident of Giyana village, with 60 bottles of illicit liquor from his house. The Rampura Sadar police arrested Jagseer Singh, a resident of Balianwali village, with 15 bottles of illicit liquor from Rampura. The two accused have been booked under the Excise Act. TNS
