The police have registered three cases of theft in the city.
Puneet Mihlani, a resident of Afeem Wali Gali, lodged a complaint with the police. In his complaint, Puneet said he had taken a shop on rent at the rear side of a hotel on Mall Road in which he had kept computer parts. He said, “Thieves barged into the shop after breaking open the lock and decamped with computer parts. After stealing the computer parts, they locked the shutter of the shop and put a new lock.”
Police officials at the Kotwali police station said a case under Sections 380, 448, 427, 511 and 34 of the IPC had been registered in this regard.
Khajan Chand, a resident of Rama Mandi, filed a complaint of theft with the police. In the complaint, he said some unidentified persons stole his Royal Enfield motorcycle worth Rs 47,000 from his house on the intervening night of January 14 and 15. A case has been registered at the Rama Mandi police station.
Ranjit Amrit, a resident of Bathinda Cantt, said some unidentified persons stole his Honda Activa scooter worth Rs 45,000 from Bibiwala Chowk. A case has been registered at the Cantt police station in this regard.
