World Water Day observed at DAV College

BATHINDA: The NCC wing of DAV College organised a painting competition to observe World Water Day on its campus here recently.

The NCC wing of DAV College organised a painting competition to observe World Water Day on its campus here recently. Nearly 15 cadets participated in the competition. They made paintings depicting various themes like creating awareness on the ecological aspects of water, need for its conservation, ways to save it and to avoid water pollution in our daily lives.

The competition was judged by Dr Vandana Jindal, head of the Computer Science Department. Cadet Anil Kumar got the first position in the competition. Cadets Babita and Kamaljit Kaur jointly bagged the second position. The event was organised under the guidance of Lt Col Himmat Singh, CO, 20 Pb Bn, NCC, Bathinda, and ANO Lt Rajesh Batra.

College principal Sanjeev Sharma and vice-principal Varesh Gupta congratulated the winners and Lt Rajesh Batra for observing the day to spread awareness on saving water. The principal said an integrated approach to water management was crucial in putting the world on the right path for a sustainable future. For this purpose, the youth of the country should be involved actively, he added.
