Chandrasekaran driving force for Tatas: India Inc

India Inc today said Tata Sons’ Chairman-designate N Chandrasekaran has been a driving force for the Tata Group.

CII president Naushad Forbes said, “On behalf of CII, I congratulate N Chandrasekaran (Chandra) for being appointed the Chairman of Tata Sons. As the leader of one of the highest value creating companies in the world (TCS), he has been a tremendous driving force for the Tata Group and is universally admired and respected”.

“At CII, we have had the privilege of his involvement in a number of initiatives and look forward to working with him even more closely. His impeccable record in financial achievements and standards of corporate governance will set new benchmarks for Indian and global industry,” Forbes said.

Assocham said Chandrasekaran has a task cut out before him, which is to maintain the leadership of the Tata Group in India Inc without letting some unsavoury past events come in the way.

Well-deserved recognition: Tata 

A day after the announcement of N Chandrasekaran as the new Chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata on Friday said the appointment is a “well-deserved recognition of his proven leadership capabilities” and although the job is complex he will take the group to new heights while protecting its values. PTI
