Gurgaon tops in VAT collection in Haryana

GURGAON: Maintaining its position for being the highest revenue provider to the state, Gurgaon has yet again topped the charts in VAT collection in 2014-15.

Maintaining its position for being the highest revenue provider to the state, Gurgaon has yet again topped the charts in VAT collection in 2014-15. The Gurgaon range, comprising Gurgaon, Rewari Jhajjar, Mewat and Narnaul submitted Rs 5,168 crore as VAT collection, with Gurgaon alone accounting for 84.24% of this collection and depositing Rs 410 crore as average monthly VAT.

The total collection stood at Rs 4,354 crore in 2013-14. The VAT collection in April and May this year stood at Rs 826.4 crore, almost 16% more than corresponding figure last fiscal. The contribution of Gurgaon is followed by Rewari which contributed Rs 419 crore.
