Infra sector grows at 3.2% in July

New Delhi, August 31

Infrastructure sector grew at 3.2% in July mainly because of improvement in performance of energy sector, especially refinery output.

However, the growth rate of the eight infrastructure sectors — coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity — was slower than the 5.2% recorded in June. The core sectors, which contribute 38% to the country’s total industrial production, had expanded by 1.3% in July last year. pti
