Jaquar to pump in Rs 300 crore in North India

CHANDIGARH:Bath fittings and lighting solutions provider Jaquar Group will invest Rs 300 crore for expanding its manufacturing capabilities in North India.

Bath fittings and lighting solutions provider Jaquar Group will invest Rs 300 crore for expanding its manufacturing capabilities in North India. The company will invest Rs 150 crore on ramping up its faucets manufacturing facility at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan and the remaining Rs 150 crore to set up an LED-manufacturing plant at Manesar in Haryana.

Post expansion, the faucet manufacturing capacity of the company will increase from 80,000 units a day to over 1 lakh units. Similarly, the LED manufacturing capacity will increase manifold post expansion. Currently, it manufactures 1.2 million pieces per month.

“In order to cater to the growing demand of our products, we are expanding our capacity at Bhiwadi and Manesar,” said Rajesh Mehra, Director, Jaquar Group. The group’s turnover is expected to touch Rs 3,300 crore in 2017-18 as compared to Rs 2,753 crore in 2016-17.

The company is also investing additional Rs 100 crore for global expansion. “We aim to garner 18% of our revenue from global markets in the next 2-3 years,” he said.
