Maggi production begins at all plants in India

NEW DELHI: Nestle India on Monday said it had resumed production of Maggi noodles at all five facilities in India.

Nestle India on Monday said it had resumed production of Maggi noodles at all five facilities in India. Nestle re-launched Maggi noodles on November 9 after a five-month ban. The company manufacturers Maggi noodles at its plants in Nanjangud (Karnataka), Moga (Punjab) Bicholim (Goa) and Tahliwal and Pantnagar in Himachal Pradesh.  PTI

AK Jain is CBDT acting chief

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) member AK Jain has been appointed acting Chairman of the board following retirement of its Chairperson Anita Kapur. JAt present, he is at CBDT member (personnel and vigilance), according to a Finance Ministry statement. Power staff's strike on Dec 8

A body of power sector staff and engineers on Monday said a day-long strike on December 8 to protest against Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2014 was unavoidable as talks remained deadlocked. "... because of no response from Union Power Minister, there is a deadlock and now December 8 strike seems inevitable," All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) said in a statement. PTI

NGT notice to Volkswagen 

The National Green Tribunal on Monday sought response from the Union Government and the German automobile firm Volkswagen on a plea seeking a ban on manufacture and sale of its vehicles in the country for allegedly flouting emission norms. A Bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar issued notice to the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Central Pollution Control Board and Volkswagen group, asking them to reply by December 23. PTI

Rs 1.13-lakh cr electronics manufacturing proposals 

The government on Monday said it had received proposals worth Rs 1.13 lakh crore in the electronics manufacturing segment from major brands under the modified special incentive package scheme (M-SIPS). "So far, M-SIPS, DeitY, has received 156 proposals with investment of over Rs 1 lakh 13 thousand crore. Many major well-known brands have submitted their applications under this scheme," Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in his blog post. PTI
