The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Turkmenistan organised an international exhibition at Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan, from June 20 to June 21, where India was represented by three states, namely Punjab, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Punjab Financial Commissioner Cooperation VK Singh disclosed that Punjab was represented by two cooperative institutions Markfed and Milkfed at the exhibition.
According to reports, residents of Turkmenistan showed keen interest in the products showcased by Markfed and Milkfed at a joint stall. Markfed displayed basmati rice, suji rusk, refined oils, honey, breakfast cereals and ready-to-eat products while Milkfed showcased UHT milk, tetra pack drinks, ghee and milk powder.
Few buyers from Russia and Uzbekistan also showed interest in Markfed’s refined sunflower and Canola oils.
