Patanjali to set up unit in Assam

GUWAHATI: Baba Ramdev-owned Patanjali has responded to the BJP-led Assam government’s endeavour to create job opportunities with plans to set up a Rs 1,000-crore herbal and food park at Balipara in Sonitpur district.

Baba Ramdev-owned Patanjali has responded to the BJP-led Assam government’s endeavour to create job opportunities with plans to set up a Rs 1,000-crore herbal and food park at Balipara in Sonitpur district.

Sources said Patanjali Herbal and Mega Food Park will be set up on 150 acres, and would generate 4,000 direct jobs. The unit will manufacture a wide range of products ranging from cosmetics, nutrition and kitchen essentials. The total project cost will be around Rs 1,000 crore with an estimated annual production capacity of 6,57,000 MT.

CM Sarbananda Sonowal will lay the foundation stone of the Patanjali Herbal and Mega Food Park, Balipara, on November 6 at the Assam Industrial Development Corporation Complex near Tezpur. Baba Ramdev and MD of Patanjali Ayurved Acharya Balkrishna will also attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony.

Patanjali has also been allotted over 300 bighas in Chirang district for setting up of a herbal medicinal plants park.
