The Indian rupee on Thursday slid by 45 paise, its worst singe-session drop in nearly seven weeks, to end at 61.86 against the greenback on month-end dollar demand from importers and banks. Dollar demand from importers, mainly oil refiners, affected the rupee value against the dollar, dealers said. PTI

HDFC Ltd’s net profit rose by 11.6% to Rs 1,425.49 crore in the third quarter ended December 2014-15. Company’s total income rose to Rs 6,870.95 crore during the quarter under review, up from Rs 6,019.80 crore during the period a year ago. PTI

SBI has settled a probe by markets watchdog SEBI into alleged violations of debenture trustee regulations during certain public and private bond issues four-and-a-half years ago. The case has been settled after SBI agreed to pay Rs 6.8 lakh towards 'settlement charges', SEBI said on Thursday. PTI

Tigerair terminates inter-line pact with Spicejet
Singapore-based Tigerair has terminated its passenger swapping pact with Spicejet over a year after the two budget carriers forged the inter-line arrangements. Under the three-year inter-line agreement signed between the two carriers, 14 Spicejet domestic destinations were connected to Singapore via Hyderabad from January 6 last year to provide a seamless connectivity to the passengers.
