Powergrid provides mechanised sanitation vehicle to MCF

Under CSR initiative, Powergrid (NR-1) has decided to provide a truck-mounted sweeping machine with vacuum cleaner to the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad (MCF).



Under CSR initiative, Powergrid (NR-1) has decided to provide a truck-mounted sweeping machine with vacuum cleaner to the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad (MCF). An agreement to this effect was signed between Powergrid and the MCF in the presence of HK Mallick, Executive Director, Powergrid (NR-1), Municipal Commissioner, Faridabad, and other dignitaries at Faridabad on May 11. The truck was flagged off by Krishan Pal Gurjar, MoS, Ministry of Social Welfare and Empowerment, Government of India.

NMDC bags S&P PLATTS Global Metals Award 2018 

NMDC Limited has bagged the prestigious S&P PLATTS Global Metals Award 2018 in corporate social responsibility category at a ceremony held in London on May 17. N. Baijendra Kumar, CMD, and Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel), NMDC, received the award. This is the first time that since the inception of this award, an Indian company has bagged an award in this category. S&P Global Platts is the leading independent provider of information, benchmark prices and analytics for the energy and commodities markets. It has been in existence for over 100 years.

SBI Card customer base crosses six-million mark

SBI Card has grown its cardholder base to over six million by garnering fastest ever growth in its card volume. The company added over one million customers in six months, between September 2017 and February 2018, thus consolidating its position as the second largest credit card issuer in the country and expanding its market share to 16%. The company had achieved a customer base of 5 million in September 2017, by adding 1 million cards between October 2016 and September 2017. The growth rate has since doubled. The average monthly card spends have increased to Rs 7,000 crore plus as compared to Rs 4,000 crore a year ago.

SCOPE workshop on strategic performance measurement

SCOPE organised a workshop on "Strategic Performance Measurement - Route to Successful Strategy Execution" in New Delhi on May 17. It was inaugurated by Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD, MMTC Limited, in the presence of senior executives of public sector enterprises. Dr UD Choubey, Director General, SCOPE, Saptarshi Roy, Director (HR), NTPC, and Member of SCOPE Executive Board Ashok Bhat were among those present on the occasion. 

DHFL to raise Rs 3,000 crore through NCD issue

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL) proposes to open a public issue of up to 12 crore secured redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of face value Rs 1,000 each to raise Rs 3,000 crore with an option to retain oversubscription of up to Rs 9,000 crore aggregating up to Rs 12,000 crore. The issue is scheduled to open on May 22 and close on June 4 with an option of early closure or extension as decided by the Board of Directors of the company for the NCD Public Issue Committee.

Transporters attend PKF’s diamond jubilee celebrations

A large number of transporters and representatives of all commercial vehicle dealers attended PKF's half-yearly 'Diamond Jubilee Utsav' held in Delhi on May 12. IndianOil organises talk on ‘Building trust via R&D’

TERI awarded for innovation in methane generation 

In recognition of the outstanding contribution of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to biotechnology and biological sciences, the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, has selected TERI for its 'Biotech Product, Process Development and Commercialization Award 2018'. The award was jointly conferred to TERI, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and the ONGC Energy Centre (OEC) Trust by Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Science and Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Earth Sciences, on the occasion of Technology Day on May 11.
