Prime Minister’s Police Medal for CRPF jawan posthumously

The Government of India has decided to honour Harvinder Singh, a CRPF jawan, posthumously with the Prime Minister's Police Medal. Martyr Harvinder Singh, while working as a head constable with 06 Battalion of CRPF in Jammu and Kashmir, had shown exemplary courage and sacrificed his life on August 24, 2016 and saved many precious lives of fellow citizens during a landslide en route to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.

IOC reiterates commitment for sustainable planet

National Fertilizers Ltd bags Hindustan PSU Award 2018

National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) has received the Hindustan PSU Award 2018 under the category 'Best Turnaround Strategy'. RK Chandiok, Director (Finance) received the award on behalf of the company. It was presented by Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan at a function held in New Delhi on May 30.

NHPC holds plantation drive on World Environment Day

NHPC celebrated World Environment Day on June 5 across its various establishments throughout the country. On the occasion, a plantation drive was organised at its corporate office where Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC, Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), NK Jain, Director (Personnel), MK Mittal, Director (Finance), Prof Arun Kumar, Independent Director and Janardan Choudhary, Executive Director (O&M), planted saplings. Various activities such as plantation, Swachhta Abhiyan, essay/debate/painting competitions etc. were organised at various power stations/projects to mark the occasion.

CSIR develops anti-diabetes herbal medicine BGR-34

The CSIR has developed an anti- diabetic herbal formulation from a combination of natural extracts derived from six plants species mentioned in ancient Ayurveda texts. The drug BGR-34 was approved by AYUSH Ministry after it was tested on patients over a period of 18 months across Delhi, Himachal, Haryana, Punjab and Karnataka. The drug, to be taken as an odd-on or adjuvant to the existing treatment, helps in maintaining normal blood glucose levels besides improving the immune system. The drug has been licensed to Delhi-based Aimil Pharmaceuticals for commercialisation. It costs Rs 5 per pill.

BHEL wins EEPC award for export excellence

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won the EEPC India National Award for export excellence for the year 2016-17, as 'Star Performer - Project Exports (Large Enterprise)'. The award was received by Atul Sobti, CMD, BHEL, from CR Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry recently.

Allen students shine in NEET, JEE (Advanced) examination 

Allen Career Institute has once again proved its supremacy in NEET-2018 and JEE (Advanced) examinations. In the JEE (Advanced) examination, the result of which was announced by the IIT, Kanpur, on June 10, two students were placed in top 10 and 28 students in top 100 ranks. German refrigerator manufacturer Liebherr has unveiled its product range for the Indian market. The unique range of refrigerators will be available across its dealership network in major Indian cities across south, west and north regions of the country. The refrigerators are priced between Rs 23,500 for the basic model and Rs 1.5 lakh for the top-end model.
