Chander Mohan takes charge as Executive Director of NHPC

Chander Mohan has assumed the charge of Executive Director, NHPC, J&K Region.



Chander Mohan has assumed the charge of Executive Director, NHPC, J&K Region. He shall be responsible for all operating NHPC power stations in J&K. He has worked in different capacities at various projects/power stations, including Dulhasti, Salal, Baglihar and also RE works in Leh and Kargil. Earlier, he was heading commercial division at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad.

Dr Raghu Yennamalli from the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, Solan, has been awarded Bioenergy Award for Cutting Edge Research (B-ACER) in the area of bioenergy. Only four faculty members were selected for the award throughout the country (one each from IIT Delhi, JNU Delhi, TERI, Delhi and Dr Raghu from Jaypee University, Waknaghat). The award is funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and the Indo-US Science and Technology forum. 

Sonalika records highest ever sale of tractors in quarter 1

International Tractors Limited (ITL), Hoshiarpur, makers of Sonalika brand of tractors, has recorded the highest ever sale of 30,001 tractors in a quarter, a growth of 20% in quarter 1. In June’18, the company registered overall growth of 32.3% by selling 12,286 units as compared to 9,286 units in same period last year. 

Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad to be held on July 29

In an endeavour to inspire and embrace enthusiastic young minds in India, the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) will conduct their test on July 29 in India. Students studying in Class V to XII are eligible for the test. The registration fee for Classes V to X is Rs 250 and for Classes XI & XII is Rs 300.

Sunil Arora takes over as unit head of NFL, Panipat

Janardan Choudhary takes over as Director (Technical), NHPC

Janardan Choudhary has taken over as Director (Technical) of NHPC Limited. He started his career in NHPC as executive trainee in December, 1984. He has over 33 years of experience in implementation of hydro projects, encompassing all areas of hydropower development from inception to commissioning, operation and maintenance. Prior to joining NHPC Board, he has held the position of Executive Director (O&M) and has been instrumental in optimising the operational performance of power stations within the regulatory framework.

At an annual award ceremony of group of 75 Rotary Clubs of Delhi-NCR held in Delhi recently, the Rotary Club of Faridabad Greater was awarded a platinum disc for its outstanding contribution to education, health and environment. This award is finalised by the international jury of over 140 countries where Rotary Club Foundation exists. Delhi-NCR Rotary Governor Ravi Choudhary credited Dhirendra Shrivastav, outgoing president of Rotary Club of Faridabad Greater, for this achievement and he was felicitated with the highest honour of ‘Elite' Rotarian.

IndianOil commissions solar plant at Leh bottling plant 

IndianOil’s bottling plant in Phey village of Leh district situated at 11,800 ft is the world’s highest LPG bottling plant supplying LPG to the Indian Army and the far-flung areas of the region. IndianOil has now commissioned a 100 KW solar power plant at the location to run the plant’s operations.
