CHANDIGARH:The first e-auction of vanity numbers of the CH 01 BG series, conducted by the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA), received a good response with the 0001 number fetching Rs 5,54,000.

The first e-auction of vanity numbers of the CH 01 BG series, conducted by the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA), received a good response with the 0001 number fetching Rs 5,54,000. The number was bought by M/s Cloud Steel Technology.

The department netted a total  of Rs 77  lakh in the  auction. The three-day bidding process ended today.

Though the bidding continued on a slow pace during the initial two days, bidders became active on the last day.

The 0007 number fetched the second-highest amount of Rs 3,05,000  followed by  0005 (Rs 2,38,000).   The 0008  and 0009  numbers fetched Rs 2,15,000 lakh each. The 9999 number fetched Rs 2,10,000.  

 Bajwa Developers bought the 0786 number by paying Rs 1.75 lakh. The RLA took 10 days to complete the auction. The registration process for the auction began on  April 26 while the auction was held from May 3 to  May 5.

One month for registration         

The successful bidder is required to get the vehicle registered as well as to deposit the balance bid amount within one month from the date of auction.
