10/10 for 2,548 students in tricity

CHANDIGARH: With as many as 2,548 students scoring a perfect 10 in the Class X Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, the tricity this year has registered a remarkable improvement in the overall performance of students as compared to last year.

With as many as 2,548 students scoring a perfect 10 in the Class X Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, the tricity this year has registered a remarkable improvement in the overall performance of students as compared to last year.

Last year, only 1,641 students from the tricity had scored a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 10, whereas in 2014 it was only 1,200. In 2013, 1,369 students from Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula had scored a 10 point grade.

Out of the total 17,172 students of Chandigarh who appeared for the Class X CBSE examination this year, a total of 1,379 students scored a CGPA of perfect 10. As many as 686 students out of the total 3,288 students from Panchkula scored a CGPA of 10, whereas 483 out of the 3,997 total students who took the class X CBSE examination from Mohali scored the perfect grade point of 10 this year.

With 121 out of the total of 299 students who appeared for the class X examination scoring a perfect CGPA of 10, Delhi Public School, Sector 40, has recorded the highest number of students with CGPA 10. A total of 193 students from DPS scored a CGPA of 9 and above. The school has also recorded an average grade point of 9.02 this year. Following this, as many as 91 out of the total students who appeared for the class X examination from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, scored a grade point of 10 this year.

At St. Anne’s Convent School, Sector 32-C, 62 out of the total 240 students scored a CGPA of 10, whereas 118 students scored a CGPA of more than 9. With a total of 60 students scoring a CGPA of 10, Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 26, also recorded a high pass percentage this year.

Out of the 157 students who appeared for the Class X examination at St. John’s High School, Sector 26, a total of 48 students secured a CGPA of 10 this year. As many as 45 out of the total 182 students who appeared for the exam at Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, scored a grade point of 10, whereas 30 students from Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, scored a 10 CGPA. Meanwhile, 46 students from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh, scored a CGPA of 10.

83 students from govt schools score 10 CGPA 

Recording an increase in the total number of students with a perfect CGPA of 10, 83 students from the city government schools secured a grade point of 10 this year. Last year, only 29 students from across government schools had scored a CGPA of 10.
