Mohali, March 30

A 100-foot-high Tricolour will soon grace Mohali town. The flag will be installed at a strategic point, most likely at Verka Chowk in Phase VI, by the Mohali Municipal Corporation here.

Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Rajesh Dhiman, Municipal Commissioner, said the flag would be installed within two months, but the location was yet to be finalised. “We have two-three locations in mind. We’ll finalise the location after consulting Mayor Kulwant Singh,” he said.

He said the aim of installing a 100-foot-high Tricolour was to imbibe a sense of patriotism among people. “As per the plan, the Tricolour will be illuminated at night,” said Dhiman. The MC has planned to hire a private company for the installation and maintenance of the National Flag.
