MOHALI: A 19-year-old migrant today died after receiving an electric shock on a machine while working at his work place at Phase 8, Industrial Area, here today.

A 19-year-old migrant today died after receiving an electric shock on a machine while working at his work place at Phase 8, Industrial Area, here today.

The victim, identified as Manoj Kumar from Gubrada village, Uttar Pradesh, was working with a private company of building construction, here.

According to the police, Manoj was working on a machine when he received the electric shock. “He fell unconscious and was immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital in Phase 6, Mohali, where he was declared brought dead,” said the police.

The victim’s colleagues said he had started working for the company just a week ago. “As the wedding of his sister was on the cards, he used to work overtime to earn extra bucks,” said his colleagues.

The police have registered a case in this connection. TNS
