A two-year-old girl drowned in a pit filled with rainwater at a park in Sector 49 today. The victim, identified as Nandini, a resident of EWS Colony, Sector 49, had gone to the park along with her mother in the afternoon. While the woman got busy with her relative in the park, the girl slipped into the pit while playing.

The police said the victim’s mother thought that the victim had returned home.
