3,040 driving licences suspended till May 31

CHANDIGARH: As many as 3,040 driving licences have been suspended for traffic-related offences by the Chandigarh Traffic Police till May 31.



Chandigarh, June 23

As many as 3,040 driving licences have been suspended for traffic-related offences by the Chandigarh Traffic Police till May 31. Meanwhile, the traffic police issued 34,854 challans for violations and have collected around Rs 1.35 crore. Driving licences of the motorists caught for using mobile phones, overspeeding, drunken driving and overloading are being suspended for three months by the traffic police.

The traffic police issued only 43 challans for under-age driving. — TNS
