The CIA staff of Kharar have arrested three snatchers, who used to rob people at gunpoint. A case has been registered under Section 382 the IPC and the Arms Act.
As per Inspector Tirlochen Singh, in-charge of the CIA staff, Kharar, they were held from a check-point at the Kharar bus stand by a police party, headed by ASI Manohar Lal, on Wednesday night.
The police had got information that Kuljinder Singh, alias Gola, a resident of Jhorada village; Amritpal Singh, alias Satta, a aresident of Bajidpur; Rajwinder Singh, alias Aoulakh, a resident of Deep Singh Wala village; and Gurdeep Singh, a resident of Adampur village, were travelling in a car to commit a crime.
The police acted on information and arrested Kuljinder Singh, Amritpal Singh and Rajwinder Singh.
A 315 bore country-made pistol, three live cartridges and a white Maruti car were seized from them. According to the police, they admitted that they were involved in various incidents of snatching. They took away a Fortuner from Kurali, Verna from Kharar, Baleno for Ghauran, a Etios from Kharar and a Maruti car from Nawanshahar. They even attempted to loot some petrol pumps in the area.
