344 advocates awarded enrolment certificates

Chandigarh: Enrollment certificates were given to newly enrolled advocates at the convocation of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana held at Law Bhawan, Sector 37, on Sunday.



Chandigarh: Enrollment certificates were given to newly enrolled advocates at the convocation of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana held at Law Bhawan, Sector 37, on Sunday. Justice Sudhir Mittal, Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court, gave away certificates to the newly enrolled advocates of Punjab and Haryana. He advised young lawyers to have patience while dealing with clients and also during the course of pleadings in courts. He also stressed the need to be fully equipped with the facts of the case to be a successful lawyer. After administering oath ceremony to the newly enrolled advocates, licences to 344 advocates were distributed. TNS

BEd entrance test on July 5

Chandigarh: For common entrance test of BEd for colleges of education situated in Punjab, all preparations have been made by Panjab University. The test will be held on July 5 at 55 centres in Punjab. In total, 21,908 candidates applied for the test. Roll numbers can be downloaded from the website. Interested candidates can apply with late fee till July 3 by visiting the Computer Centre of the PU. TNS

One held with banned injections

Chandigarh: The police on Sunday arrested a 19-year-old youth for possessing 26 banned injections. The police said the accused, Kishan Chanchal, alias Chipad, a resident of EWS Colony, Dhanas, was arrested from near the IRB campus turn in Sarangpur. The police have recovered banned injections from his possession. TNS

Youth hangs himself to death

Chandigarh: A 23-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself at Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26 here on Sunday. Before committing suicide, the victim made a video on his mobile in which he mentioned that nobody should be held responsible for his death. Sources said the accused, Ravi, was a vegetable vendor at the Grain Market, Sector 26. The police were informed about the incident. The victim was rushed to the GMSH-16 where doctors declared him brought dead. TNS

Thieves strike at shop

Chandigarh: A theft incident was reported at a shop in the Industrial Area, Phase I, here on the intervening night of June 29 and 30. According to the police, complainant Rohan stated that an unknown person entered his shop and managed to steal three silver coins, Rs 5,000 in cash, a CD and a torch. A case has been registered. TNS
