Mohali, February 21

The police have arrested five individuals for stealing vehicles, including two cars, eight motorbikes, and one scooter.

The suspects have been identified as Lovepreet Singh of Padiala, Ravinderpal Singh and Rajdeep Singh (car dealer) from Moga, Fatehgarh’s Surinder and Anuj from Ismailabad in Haryana.

A case under Section 379 of the IPC was registered at the Phase 1 police station on February 12 on the basis of a complaint by a resident of Sector 39, Tarlochan Singh.

In another case, the Phase 8 police nabbed a Pakhowal road resident, Kabir Singh, who already had two cases of theft registered against him. Two motorbikes and one scooter were recovered from Kabir Singh. His accomplice Kavi, alias Gugi, fled and more motorbikes are yet to be recovered. The police said the duo stole seven motorbikes and sold them in the Rajpura area. A case under Sections 379, 411 of the IPC has been registered.
