There seems to be no let-up in snatching incidents with five cases being reported from the city in less than 24 hours.
Sources said the first incident was reported around 7 pm in Sector 34 on Sunday.
A motorcycle-borne miscreant snatched a purse from a woman in Sector 34. The purse contained Rs 500, an ATM card and important documents. The purse was snatched near the Sector 34 market. The victim, a resident of Sector 35, said she failed to note down the registration number of the motorcycle.
The second incident was reported around 8 pm in Sector 36 on Sunday. The victim, identified as Tanu Tandon, was taking an evening walk near her house when two motorcycle-borne miscreants sped away after snatching her mobile phone.
The third snatching incident was reported near Piccadily Chowk a few minutes later. The victim, Jyoti, a resident of Sector 46, reported that an unidentified miscreant riding a Pulsar motorcycle sped away after snatching her purse containing Rs 1,700 and important documents. The sources said the victim managed to note down a part of the registration number of the motorcycle.
The fourth snatching incident was reported from Sector 15 around 9 pm on Sunday where a motorcycle-borne miscreant snatched a mobile phone from a Delhi resident, Sunil Kumar. The accused was riding a Splendor motorcycle.
The fifth snatching incident was reported around 5.45 pm near Japanese Garden in Sector 31 today.
The sources said a youth riding an Activa scooter snatched a purse from Pinky, a resident of Zirakpur.
The purse had some cash and important documents, said the victim.
