6 pvt schools err on timings, booked

MOHALI:The police have registered cases against the management of six private schools for not adhering to the orders of Mohali District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra on changing the school timings in Mohali in view of the smog in the area.

The police have registered cases against the management of six private schools for not adhering to the orders of Mohali District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra on changing the school timings in Mohali in view of the smog in the area.

The schools against which cases under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the IPC have been registered at the respective police stations are The Millennium School, Phase 5, Learning Paths School, Sector 67, Manav Mangal Smart School, Phase 10, Shishu Niketan Public School, Phase 4, Shastri Model School, Phase 1, and Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector 69. 

The action has been initiated on the orders of the Mohali Deputy Commissioner, who had yesterday asked all government and private schools to change their school timings and open their institutes from 10 am to 3 pm till November 18. 

The orders were issued for the safety of schoolchildren and the staff in view of smog and bad weather conditions in the area. Confirming the action, Sapra said the schools in question did not adhere to the orders and opened their as per the earlier time.
