A seven-month-old foetus was recovered from a vacant plot at Jaspal Colony in Nabha town late last night.
The incident came to light this morning when someone noticed the foetus wrapped in a polythene bag in the street. The matter was informed to the police and the police immediately took it in their custody.
Investigation officer ASI Harjeet Singh said they would seek the help of CCTV cameras installed in the area. He said the foetus had been shifted to the Civil Hospital and would be sent to Government Rajendra Hospital in Patiala to ascertain about the parents of the unborn child through DNA test.
