Seventy-five persons were challaned for drunken driving during a joint drive carried out by the Chandigarh Traffic Police and the PCR last night. Vehicles were also impounded for drunken driving and other violations.
According to the police, joint nakas were laid at different parts of the city between 9.30 pm and 11.30 pm to check offenders.
At these nakas, 82 challans were issued — 75 for drunken driving and seven for miscellaneous traffic violations. During the drive, 75 vehicles were impounded.
Police officials said such drives would continue.
