All fogged out, city sees coldest day of month

Chandigarh: Fog engulfed the tricity this morning, reducing visibility to 50 metres. Resultantly, five flights were cancelled and 15 flights and seven trains delayed today. The city experienced the coldest day of the month today with the maximum temperature dropping to 11.5°C, nine degrees below normal.

Chandigarh, January 17

Fog engulfed the tricity this morning, reducing visibility to 50 metres. Resultantly, five flights were cancelled and 15 flights and seven trains delayed today. The city experienced the coldest day of the month today with the maximum temperature dropping to 11.5°C, nine degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 9.4°C, three degrees above normal.

Residents got some respite from the dense fog in the afternoon.

The Met Department has forecast that there will be no relief from the fog over the next three days and the day temperature is expected to dip further. 

The city recorded 0.2 mm rainfall this morning. 

The morning New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi was delayed by 40 minutes.
