Bag containing Rs 2.5 lakh snatched, 1 held

Chandigarh: A bag containing Rs 2.5 lakh was snatched by two pedestrians from a travel agent at Burail in Sector 45 on Wednesday night. While one of the accused was nabbed at the spot, the other managed to escape with the bag.

The police said the victim, Mashehudin Ansari, who runs a tour, travel and money exchange business, was leaving his office at Burail along with his client when the incident took place. While one of the accused, Ashish (23), was nabbed at the spot, his accomplice managed to flee with the bag. —TNS
