Biker dies, 2 injured in hit-&-run

Chandigarh, May 24

In a hit-and-run case, a 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed while two others riding pillion were injured after an unknown vehicle hit the bike at the Sector 25/38 light point last night. According to the police, the youths were triple-riding on a Pulsar motorcycle from Sector 25 to Dadu Majra when the vehicle hit the motorcycle.

The deceased has been identified as Akshay, a resident of Sector 24, who was riding the motorcycle while his friends, both residents of Sector 25, were riding pillion.

Sources said passersby informed the police about the incident after which all three were rushed to hospital where Akshay was declared brought dead. The police said all youths were in an inebriated condition when the accident took place. The police have registered a case against the unknown driver at the Maloya police station.
