The bodies of three minor children, who were reported missing on Sunday, were found allegedly with bullet injuries on the head in Morni hills in Panchkula district on Tuesday.

The victims have been identified as Sameer, 11, Simran, 8, and Samar, 4. Their bodies were found in a forested area at Morni-Raipur Rani road.

The three children belonged to Sarsa village near Pehowa in Kurukshetra district.

Police officials said they were questioning the father of the children, Sonu Malik, and their uncle in connection with the triple murder.

The police are trying to find out whether the minors were brought to Morni area and shot there or were murdered elsewhere and dumped at Morni.

Soon after the reports of gruesome murders of the three young siblings splashed on the television channels this morning, an uneasy calm hit Sarsa village.

Suman, mother of the victims, was not still informed until this evening about her children been found shot dead.

All she has been told by her relatives is that three kids, who were missing under suspicious circumstances from Sarsa, about 20-km from the Kurukshetra city, since Sunday, have been found.

“It is a tragic moment as the police are suspecting Suman’s husband Sonu and his cousin Jagdeep Malik behind the crime. We are finding it tough to share the news with her as it would be tough for her to bear the shock,” said a villager near their house.

Relatives and villagers formed a human chain in front the house and barred media persons from contacting the mother.

“Entire village knows the truth but no one musters the courage to tell Suman about the tragic end of her children. We do not want anyone to tell her about it now. We are just buying time with prayers,” said an elderly villager there.

Houses of Sonu and Malik are located on the same street.

Sonu is a photographer working from Kaithal city whereas Malik is a farmer.

Abhishek Garg, SP, said Sonu had an extramarital affair and connived with Jagdeep to allegedly kill his children.

Following Jagdeep’s inputs, a team of Kurukshetra police was able to locate the bodies in the forest hills in Panchkula district this morning, he said.

“Our team of investigators got an input about the suspected conduct of the duo. During questioning, Jagdeep admitting killing the children at Morni with a gun and dumped the bodies in the forest area. Jagdeep has been arrested while Sonu is still under police detention,” said the SP.

After committing the crime, the duo tried to mislead all by claiming the children might have been kidnapped or went missing in the ongoing ‘mela’ at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra.
