"The two-week Theatre Olympics organised by the National School of Drama and the UT Cultural Affairs and underway at Tagore Theatre is set to stage plays with diverse thematic content and languages," disclosed Sudesh Sharma, festival coordinator.
In the series, a non-verbal puppet play, "Across the Sea", was presented by the NSD Sankaar Rang Toli, Delhi, under the direction of Anurupa Roy, highly-skilled theatre practitioner.
The play, enacted by 12 young actors, attired in black clothes regulated the movements of puppets to geometrical accuracy, depicted an adventure that takes a baby penguin from Antarctica across the sea to Africa.
In this journey, the baby penguin meets many strange creatures, and makes friends fearlessly and without judgment. It’s a story of friendship between diverse people in today's global world. It celebrates diversity, differences and the spirit of childhood.
