Chandigarh: The Horticulture Division of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has replanted a tree after necessary pruning, along with due treatment, on the Sarovar Path, Sector 18.



Chandigarh: The Horticulture Division of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has replanted a tree after necessary pruning, along with due treatment, on the Sarovar Path, Sector 18. The replantation was done on the directions of MC Commissioner B Purushartha. The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation came up with an idea to save the uprooted trees during the storm and heavy rains from the axe. TNS

Mayor takes stock of MOH office

Chandigarh: UT Mayor Asha Jaswal on Friday took stock of the Medical Officer of Health (MoH) located in 30 bays building, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Bharat Kumar, chairman, Sanitation Committee, Ravi Kant Sharma, Chairman, Fire & Emergency Services Committee, and other councillors also accompanied the Mayor. During the visit, the Mayor took round of the office and instructed the officers concerned to improve the seating arrangements in the office of the MoH and the office of death & birth registration. She also checked toilet blocks in the area and instructed the officers concerned to upgrade the toilets there. TNS

Cheating case registered

Chandigarh: The police have booked the sales manager of Harbir Auto Chd, Industrial Area-I, for cheating an Air Force officer regarding sale of an XUV 500 vehicle. The police have registered a case against sales manager Ashish Khullar on the complaint of Michael Sukale who alleged that the accused cheated him regarding the sale of the vehicle. The matter is under investigation. TNS

Panchkula resident cheated

Panchkula: A Sector 21 resident put an advertisement on OLX for sale of a second-hand car, but he got cheated. On his complaint, the police lodged an FIR against Jatinder Rana, a resident of Una (HP). Complainant Narinder Batta had bought an accidental Innova car. After its repair, he decided to sell the car for Rs 6.5 lakh. He put the car’s picture on OLX for sale. Jatinder contacted him and they met in Una. While test driving, Rana decamped with the car, along with documents. The police lodged a complaint and registered an FIR. TNS
