BS Gill wins Chandigarh Golf Club election

CHANDIGARH: Birinder Singh Gill won the Chandigarh Golf Club election by 413 votes against Lt Col JS Panag (retd), the results of which were announced on Monday.

Chandigarh, April 30

Birinder Singh Gill won the Chandigarh Golf Club election by 413 votes against Lt Col JS Panag (retd), the results of which were announced on Monday. 

As many as 918 members voted in Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) elections held on Sunday. A total of 1,800 members of the club have the right to cast a vote.

The voting started at 11.30 am and continued till 5 pm.

Some of the prominent members who came to vote were former athlete Milkha Singh, DGP Punjab Suresh Arora, DGP Chandigarh Tajender Singh Luthra and Punjab MLA Rana Gurjit Singh. Many senior officers, businessmen, retired judges, senior advocates and women members also cast their votes. 

There were 15 candidates for the 11 other posts of the management committee.
